The position –

You could be reporting directly to the President and will play an integral role within the organization.

Like most controller roles you’re responsible for a broad range of duties including overseeing all accounting activities, preparing accurate and timely financial statementsmanagement reports on a monthly and quarterly basis and coordinating audits.

As an experienced Controller/Finance Manager it goes without saying that you are knowledgeable in the usual areas of responsibility such as Preparing and/or reviewing all month end reconciliationsDaily bank and cash flow reportingManage payroll, including all remittances & year-end reporting and oversee the management of the benefits program.

Other duties include ensuring all government reporting deadlines are met including remittances for income taxpayrollGSTPSTWorkSafe BC, etc. Project costing and departmental costing requests, assisting with the operational and capital budgets and the ability to support special projects when required could also under your remit.

Skills and Experience –

This position will put your 10+ years of experience at a Controller/Senior Accountant level Bachelors Degree in Accounting (or similar) and a financial designation (CPA or CGA) to good use. Other specific knowledge for this position include a solid understanding of Sage accounting software is preferred and knowledge of Microsoft Office is required. A solid experience with other financial software packages such as Quickbooks, SAP or Oracle will be considered.
