A growing development and construction company in the Okanagan is looking to hire a Commercial Leasing Manager.  This is a full-time, salaried position reporting to the Director of Real Estate.  The Commercial Leasing Manager will primarily be responsible for leasing & acquisition of commercial real estate properties.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Proactively call/email prospective office and retail tenants
  • Build and maintain database of prospective tenants and consultants
  • Conduct research and collect data from both internal database and third-party sources with respect to market rates, comparable transactions and general market knowledge
  • Conduct research on primary, secondary and tertiary markets in BC to help inform investment decisions
  • Prepare and market material for listings
  • Coordinate and engage in direct marketing initiatives
  • Communicate directly with clients, prospects, brokers and other community stakeholders
  • Prepare documentation of all transactions
  • Develop and build relationships with prospects
  • Maintain a strong presence with local companies, prospects and client base
  • Continuously upgrade level of knowledge regarding market and industry trends
  • Explore existing/new research tools and data sources to enhance research team capabilities
  • Develop strong understanding and knowledge of company and competitor properties

 

Qualifications

  • Four or more years of real estate experience (brokerage, business development, private equity, landlord or other similar roles)
  • University degree, preferably in real estate, commerce, economics, finance or marketing
  • Highly organized, strong attention to detail, able to allocate time effectively, tight deadlines, handle multiple demands and competing priorities, and adapt to new ideas and change
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), negotiation and networking skills
  • Strong math skills and problem-solving capability
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint)
  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to work flexible hours and travel locally
  • Basic skills in creating/understanding financial models (Excel, Argus, etc.)
  • Excellent research, quantitative and analytical skills
  • Ability to take initiative and be resourceful
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of integrity, honesty and ethics
