Overview

Platinum Recruiting has the privilege of working with the Flowr Corporation, an outstanding start-up company in the Cannabis industry who believe cultivating premium cannabis products starts from the ground up. In support of that mission, Platinum Recruiting are supporting in the recruitment of a Quality Control Associate to join the team, in their Kelowna facility.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the Quality Control Manager and Senior QC Associate, as required
  • Represent Quality as an ambassador for the Cannabis Act, and regulatory compliance with respect to GMPs and company SOPs
  • Spending approximately 90% of time in production, reviewing raw data, in-process product reviews, raw materials, and associated documents
  • Establish, understand, and follow all department SOPs to GMP standards, including QC procedures for USP/ EU compliance
  • Complete all required documentation using Good Documentation Practices (GDPs), including QC procedures for USP/ EU compliance
  • Participate in developing testing specifications for all controlled materials and finished products
  • Performs raw material sampling, bulk product sampling, and routine QC testing on raw materials
  • Generates QC SOPs and raw material specifications
  • Reviews analytical data and certificates of analysis for all materials
  • Assists with performing vendor qualification
  • Provides quality support for internal departments
  • Sampling and coordinating testing of cannabis products both internally and externally to ensure compliance with internal specifications and other needs
  • Participate in Material Management – sampling, testing, and review of certificate of analysis of controlled materials
  • Other duties as assigned by Quality Management

Education, Experience and Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related scientific field (Pharmaceutical, Chemistry, Biology, etc.)
  • Minimum 2 years working in a Quality manufacturing environment, preferably a regulated industry
  • Familiar with GMP/GPP/GDP
  • Cannabis experience considered an asset
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Fluency in MS Office is mandatory
  • Competency of technical writing (SOPs, Specifications,)
  • Ability to work independently, with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to an evolving environment
  • Strong leadership skills
