Platinum Recruiting have the pleasure of supporting a Kelowna based General Contractor with over 40 years of providing construction services in BC with recruiting a Junior Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis.
This is a part time position with standard working hours of 10am-4:30pm, three days per week, but there may be opportunity for increased hours in due course.
The role –
The successful candidate will assist with accounting activities such as Accounts Payables and Receivables, preparing reports, analyzing data, and being a back-up person for their bi-weekly payroll.
They will be the first point of contact for all stakeholders who contact their office, either by phone or in person. Additional duties will also include some administrative functions such as coordinating courier services, control internal mailbags from their construction sites and manage incoming/outgoing mail.
Skills and experience –
The successful candidate for this opportunity will have formal accounting education, strong experience with Microsoft Suite, and be detail oriented and meticulous regarding the quality of their outputs.
Personal attributes will include professional mannerisms when dealing with people over the phone and in-person and are a team player who can multi-task in a fast-paced office setting.
The successful candidate will have 2-3 years of recent, related accounting experience and be willing to learn their processes and systems. Our client uses AccountEdge as their current system but experience of other accounting software programs are suitable.
